Privacy policy

Pocket Crimes is made by Roberto Pérez Marín, an independent developer based in Spain, who is responsible for the personal data described here. You can write about anything on this page to support@pocketcrimes.app.
The short version
There is no account and no analytics. Your progress stays on your phone. Only three things ever leave it: the requests that download new cases, what Google's advertising service collects to show adverts, and the emails you choose to send us. We do not sell any data.
What stays on your phone
Your cases, notes, streak, hints and settings are stored on your device and never sent to us. Deleting the app deletes them.
Downloading cases
The app asks content.pocketcrimes.app for new and corrected cases. Like any website, the server receives your IP address and basic details of the request, such as the time. We do not use them to identify you. The files are served by Cloudflare, which may process this information to deliver them and keep the service secure (Cloudflare's privacy policy).
Adverts
The game shows adverts through Google AdMob. To show adverts, measure them and prevent fraud, Google may collect your IP address, an approximate location derived from it, information about your device, how you interact with the adverts and, on Android, your device's advertising ID. On iPhone the app does not ask for permission to track you, so it never reads your device's advertising identifier.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, Google's consent form asks you the first time you open the app whether adverts may be personalised. You can change your answer at any time in Settings → Privacy options. Without your consent, adverts are not personalised.
How Google uses this information: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Emails you send us
When you write to us we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. An email started from Settings → Report a problem also includes the case you last played, the app version and your phone's operating system, which you can see and delete before sending. We use all of this only to answer you and fix problems, and delete it once it is no longer needed for that.
Children
Pocket Crimes is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Legal basis
Personalised adverts are shown only with your consent. Delivering cases, showing adverts that are not personalised and answering your emails rely on our legitimate interest in running the game and helping you.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to its use, to receive a copy of it, and you can withdraw your consent at any time. Write to support@pocketcrimes.app. For data collected by Google, Google's own tools apply. You can also complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (aepd.es).
Changes
If this policy changes, this page will show the new version and its date.
